What do they do in class?
During their 40 minute class we play with assorted props such as tambourines, rhythm sticks, a huge colourful parachute and long ribbon sticks. Our class starts with classical ballet then they leave these shoes on for funky jazz, danced to popular kids music such as the Wiggles, Hi-5, and popular Top 40 hits. We then send them to you to change into their tap shoes, have a quick drink and a cuddle then back inside to start our tap dancing.

Parents are not encouraged to sit in on classes as the children work much better when with their teachers alone. You can wait outside the room, however you can still see your child through the open door. Parents are invited in to watch the class at the end of each term, to view their progress. We encourage you to clap on these very special occasions.
Please be aware that the first few classes are often unsettling as the children relax into their new surroundings and become familiar with their teachers. We supply a name tag on your child, to help teachers to learn their names.
Children feel more secure when they hear their name being called.
When do we see them on stage?
Pre school dancers will perform on stage at the Liverpool Catholic Club (LCC) in our mid year pantomime and end of year concert giving them the opportunity to dance on stage in costume. Costume hire is $25-00 for one costume. They will need to travel to the LCC for a stage rehearsal.
What do they wear in class?
You have the choice of a blue leotard or 3/4 length pants and a crop top—all with the studio logo attached. These are only available for sale at the studio. We understand you may want to wait a few weeks until purchasing their uniform and dance shoes. We sell new and second hand ballet and tap shoes at the studio.
To start off, girls may wear any one piece swimming costume or shorts and a top. Try to put their hair in a bun or pulled back away from their face. Boys may wear shorts and a t-shirt.
It's fine to start ballet in bare feet, but for tap we recommend putting on some hard soled shoes such as party shoes, similar to school shoes with the toes covered, so they can kick the floor with their toes.
Please phone us on 9823 3453 to secure your place in our class.
We look forward to meeting you and your future “star”
