Our Jazz Festival will be held on Saturday (date to be decided) from 4.00pm at Governer Philip King School, Allambie Rd, Edensor Park, starting with Preschool Jazz. A trophy will be awarded to the winners of each grade. All students entered will receive a participation certificate.

Jazz competitors will perform a short dance on their own, on stage. All parents, relatives and friends are welcome to come and watch. Pre-school dancers will have a dancer near them to help them remember. Pre Primary and Primary will have a prompt backstage if they need help. There is also an improvisation section where the children hear music (selected by the adjudicator) once only and then make up a very short dance with their own choice of dance steps.

Entry for the audience is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. (not dancing 15 years or younger) Competitors do not pay at the door. Showgroup will entertain you while the adjudicator makes her decision.

The Jazz performers will wear a costume of your choice. Hairstyles can also be your choice, but please do not let it fall across your face while dancing. If you cannot find or sew a costume, you can hire one from the studio for $10.00. Please see your teacher if you require a hire costume.

All money received for entries and admissions, will go towards our Festival trophies. Entry fee for all competitors is $6.00 due in by Saturday 7th August.

Our adjudicator is a professional dancer.

There will be hot dogs for sale throughout the evening. Drinks will also be on sale. If anyone would like to donate a cake or salad dish for our stall, please put your name on the bottom of the plate for your return.
Some parents will be needed to help with the smooth running of our Festival. Over the years, we have been delighted to see the parents and children enjoy the social scene of this festival and many friendships have been formed as a result.
